Appreciating the location of our dynamic surrounding it is only common sense that we want to share this with people who are passionate about their bikes. This year’s show will be held at the Kenilworth Hotel. The show and shine starts at 2 pm and your bike needs to be registered to be in the run for a prize. A rare opportunity is available to see Brett A. Jones’s graphite drawings of motor bikes. Brett is from Hervey Bay and he will be sharing his secrets on the subject of freehand drawing. Brett is widely renowned for his exquisite drawing skills in graphite. His recent wins of both the drawing award and member’s award at the Maryborough art show are only his most recent achievements. He has won over four dozen art show awards with his freehand works in graphite in the last few years. Several of these multi-award winning works are available as signed prints including four A2 sized limited edition lithographs which will be a part of the 'bike art x-posed' display, a popular part of the 'KenilworthCelebrates!' week. Another feature piece of art will be displayed at the Hotel. ** 'Social Club Victorian Bush Fire Appeal Charity Ride ** Start From : Amcor packaging (cnr Ashover a Start at : 28-02-2009 at 08:00 On Saturday Feb 28th the Brisbane motorcycle Social Club will host the 'Social Club Victorian Bush Fire Appeal Charity Ride' The SC's goal is to make this the biggest fund raising Charity Ride in SE QLD history and it is open to all Clubs, Groups, Riders of whatever make or model you ride...(the only distinction is your bike must be able to ride at posted speed limits up to 100kph) Registration commences at 8am and the ride departs dead on 10am so dont be late and bring a mate (or 20). Entry fee of $20 per bike is payable at the gate and all entry fee proceeds go directly to the Red Cross Bush Fire Appeal. The ride will depart from Amcor Packaging (Cnr Ashover and Boundary Roads, Rocklea), stopping at Harrisville Royal Hotel for a Water The Horse break, then meandre through the backroads to the Glenmorganvale Hotel for the finish, raffle draws and a great night of food and entertainment. ** Australian Motorcycle Expo Fri20th to Sun 22nd February 2009 ** Start From : Gold Coast Convention Center Start at : 20-02-2009 at 10am Australian motorcycle expo is on again, went to this one a couple of years ago, just like bike week but indoors. It’s on at the gold coast convention & exhibition centre (just north of Jupiter’s)on fri20/02/09,sat21/02/09&sun22/02/09. 10am till 9pm.just a suggestion if anyone’s interested might do a Saturday arvo run leave about the time fugly’s closes shop and head to the coast for dinner then on to the expo or go straight to the expo and then for dinner.
